I thought I should try and bank some blogging time while I am not too busy. So this is just a basic update. I have taken my unit one module exams, which I hope went well. It’s hard to tell how well I did until I get the actual grades in March. I reckon I probably did best in Psychology, okay in Politics and worst in Religion and Philosophy, but like I said I can’t be certain.
The Skins Tour kicked off yesterday at Syndicate in Bristol, will be on again tonight in Swansea, then Hereford and Ashford (which I will be attending), London on the night of release and finally Brighton – my ‘home town’. It was an interesting evening and I expect will be incredibly enjoyable when with all my friends back home. I also did some ADR voiceover today for episode six, which is amazing. Will Merrick is a truly wonderful actor.
I have some art books to recommend; firstly, one which I got for christmas, Sittings by Christian Coigny who is one of my favourite photographers. I love the simplicity in his style and the openness displayed by his models. Another book which is really interesting, if not a little harrowing, is Strangeland by Tracey Emin. If you don’t know much about her, or whether you love her or hate her this book is worth a read. It gives incredible insight into her life and her work dispute not actually showing any of her art. It had me sobbing on the train from Temple Meads to Paddington today. I also love Ellen Von Unwerth’s Revenge. It’s just fabulous! I haven’t actually bought it on account of it being incredibly expensive but I would certainly recommend you look at her work.
Remember to tune in on Thursday, E4 at 10pm!
Thank you very much for this update, Dakota !
Don’t worry about your grades, think positive and everything’s gonna be just fine !
Love,
Arnaud
Hi Dakota!
Thank you so much that you already blogged again. I really didn’t expect it but it is a wonderful surprise. Thank you also for all those recommandations I will surely have a look at all of the books.
I hope your grades will be good but don’t worry. As far as I can tell you are so good at school! I can’t understand how you manage that when you are so busy.
Good luck for all your projects.
Love,
Nicole

Dakota, you shine as the moon in full brillance, the light of the Sun, softened, diffused and made more lovely, a true Moon Maiden. May you have a happy Valentines Day today and for a lifetime of tommorrows.

Dear Dakota,
Let me tell you more about my dog, Baby. She’s 6 and a half, 36 pounds, all black with a white tipped tail, white chest and whiteish socks on the front legs. Her legs are longish, paws large and she is very fast. Her mum competed in Alaskan sled dog races. A quizzical expression usually shows on her face; with a longish snout, fox-like ears and piercing brown eyes. I love her and we never miss our daily walks (3 to 5 miles).
I would never hurt her and feel the same about you. I always try to live in and promote the Republic of Heaven.
As always,
john

Dakota,
Just wanted to say I am reading “Actors on Acting” by Toby Cole and Helen Krich Chinoy which is quite informative, if necessary to skip around to find the more interesting parts. It gives me an appreciation of the skills needed to act professionally. The section covering George Henry Lewes, an english actor, pages 341 to 352 covers “The Actor’s Symbols” which I believe will be of interest. The only drawback being the author mostly concentrates on stage rather than film. Your opinion and that of your fans is welcome.
As always,
john
Dear Dakota,
I will miss you as I’m going to be on a long journey. My advice until I see you again is to be strong in your convictions and dedicated in your passions to help the needy and unjustly accused. I will be your friend and hope you consider me the same. Thanks for putting up with my comments you are so kind.
As always.
